It was a chilling morning for WDBJ. Everything was almost doing well with Reporter Alison Parker’s interview with Vicki Gardner at the Bridgewater Plaza, Moneta. Cameraman Adam Ward was filming the surrounding area of the park as Alison interviews Vicki about the news. Looks like your ordinary news piece, right?
But little do these people know that danger looms around the corner. And for Alison and Adam, this was their final cut. It is because moments after that certain interview, their lives will be cut short.
A gunman suddenly shot Alison and Ward while being on air. Believe it or not, everything was caught on camera as this stranger suddenly pulled out a gun and took aim at the reporting media group. Truly, this is another one of those incidents when you just want to stop.
Alison Parker, 24, and Ward, 27, died on the scene as this gunman shot them while they’re broadcasting the interview. Vicki was also shot by the gunman and is now being treated in the hospital with serious injuries.
This video sparks again the issue of anti-gun law that limits the usage of guns in America. Some say that after these horrific events of shooting, the said law should now be passed on the congress. Others believed that guns aren’t really the main cause of this problem but the people themselves who were using the guns to kill people.
According to some sources, the gunman was previously one of their colleague, Vester Lee Flanagan II. He was a previous reported under the same network and now treated as the primary suspect for this incident.
